Hotel description and useful information for travellers

Cleanliness

Consistently praised across reviews — described as very clean, 'sauber' and 'propre'; rooms and public areas reported as well maintained.

Service

Staff repeatedly described as friendly and helpful (several mentions of a specific employee, Herr Jovan). A few isolated service issues noted (breakfast staffing problems and one report about staff reaction during a fire alarm) but overall service sentiment is strongly positive.

Location

Very convenient for the central train station (multiple mentions). Some guests noted the station neighbourhood can feel less safe and one comment mentioned being almost 2 km from the city centre, but overall the location is valued for transit access.

Room Quality

Rooms described as clean, comfortable and well designed by many, but several reviews mention small room size, narrow corridors and smaller beds — sometimes tight for families.

Amenities

Basic amenities available (breakfast, bar, luggage storage). Some gaps noted — lack of a small fridge in rooms, expensive bar drinks and costly/limited parking — but overall amenities meet expectations for this category.

Value for Money

Frequently highlighted as excellent value and 'best rapport qualité prix' / 'top Preisleistungsverhältnis' by multiple guests; price-performance perceived as a strong point.

Experience the perfect blend of comfort and convenience at our Premier Inn Essen City Hauptbahnhof hotel, your ideal base for exploring the vibrant city of Essen.

Prime Location

Nestled in the heart of Essen, our hotel offers easy access to renowned attractions like the magnificent Essen Cathedral and the fascinating Zollverein colliery, making it perfect for both business travelers and tourists.
